CitySprint, the UK’s largest privately owned SameDay Courier network, has bought regionaloperator Goldstar Couriers for an undisclosed sum in the latest in a series of acquisitions. It is
planning more deals this year.Coventry-based Goldstar Couriers, a family-run business, was established over 25 years ago andis one of the city’s oldest established courier companies with a broad local customer base, CitySprint announced. Its revenues were not disclosed.
The deal further strengthens CitySprint’s position in the Midlands following a series of threestrategic acquisitions in the region in the last sixteen months. CitySprint already has anestablished presence with major ServiceCentres in Warwick, Birmingham, Telford and Nottingham.
With effect from March 1, 2010, Goldstar has been trading as CitySprint, operating fromCitySprint’s MidlandsCentre in Warwick. Caroline Davey, current owner of Goldstar Couriers, willremain at CitySprint and several Goldstar Couriers will also be joining the CitySprint team toensure continuity of service for customers.

Our customers have alwaysbeen our main concern and we have chosen to join forces with CitySprint as we are 100% confidentthat they will look after our customers and continue to provide them with an excellent service aswe have done for the last 25 years.”
