TNT Innight, TNT’s European overnight express business, has signed an agreement with RenaultGermany to handle its after-sales service and returns processing.
Under the deal with the German subsidiary of the French car manufacturer, TNT Innight willprovide spare parts for Renault’s partners from its central warehouse in Brühl, NorthRhine-Westphalia.
This warehouse ensures an optimal after-sales service. From here, TNT now distributesurgently needed spare parts such as front shields, brake discs and mudguards, among others, to the680 partners of Renault and Dacia nationwide.
Steffen Beuerle, Key Account Manager Automotive, TNT Innight Germany, specified thetransportation volumes. “Between 4,000 and 5,000 colli leave the 25,000 sqm warehouse daily.”
Depending on the size, the spare parts are transported loose, in pallet cages, wooden racks, euro pallets, returnable boxes or paperboard containers. Spare parts ordered by 4 p.m. reach theirrecipient the next morning by 8 a.m. Some partners are even supplied with goods before 6 or 7 a.m.
Delivery by night express is made to an individually agreed location, often a parked car, without a receipt. For this service, customers entrust TNT Innight the keys or the access code tothe respective parking spaces. The recipient thus finds the replacement item where he needs it whenstarting work. In total, the night express specialist administers 41,000 keys.
As a further advantage of the returns processing, used parts, guarantee parts and otherreturns that are sent back to Renault from partners are detected by the TCS web returns system ofTNT Innight and can be traced through it. The pick-up of the returns is made during the nextdelivery, at the latest three days after registering a shipment. Shipments are delivered the nextworking day by 6 a.m. at the central warehouse in Brühl.
To organise the after-sales service for Renault in an optimal way, the car manufacturer’sprocesses were analysed in detail. “With a sophisticated, scheduled line service, returnsprocessing and further services such as cash on delivery (COD), TNT Innight has organised thelogistics processes in a way specific to the requirements of our partners and Renault,” said RolandZebisch, Director Logistics Parts, Components & Recycling, Renault Germany.
