Austrian Post gets two-year mail contract extension with Otto Group

The German mail-order firm Otto Group has extended its cooperation agreement with Austrian Post bya further two years until the end of 2011.



With this move, Otto Group continues to rely on the strengths and the quality of the Austrianpostal operator with 70 million advertising mail items per year.

“The post is a reliable, professional and very good partner for Otto Group and especially forboth our leading brands OTTO and Universal. As one of the top customers in Austria, we contributeto safeguarding jobs with our huge volumes. We get the highest quality at a fair price. It’s awin-win cooperation for both companies!” said Harald Gutschi, spokesman of the Board at UnitoShipping & Services, an Otto Group unit.

Otto Group is one of the leading European mail-order groups with 49,500 employees andturnover of €10.1 billion in 2008/2009. It is second to Amazon worldwide for online retailing(B2C). In Austria it operates through OTTO, Universal and various specialist mail-order companies.
