SingPost CEO quits job

Wilson Tan, Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Singapore Post (SingPost), has resigned fromhis position to pursue other opportunities. A new CEO is now being sought.



Since 2007, Tan has led the transformation of SingPost from a predominantly postal servicesprovider to a provider of mail, logistics and retail solutions in the region, the company said. Histenure also saw the acquisition of Quantium Solutions International (formerly known as G3 WorldwideAspac) and Postea, giving SingPost a ready platform for its regional growth and expansion.

“It is gratifying to see SingPost develop from strength to strength and indeed to be part ofits exciting transformational journey. The postal and logistics landscape has been evolving intandem with changes in customers’ lifestyles and SingPost has been adapting and reinventing itselfto stay relevant to its customers,” Tan commented.

SingPost’s Chairman Lim Ho Kee said: “On behalf of the SingPost Board, I wish to register ourappreciation to Wilson for his invaluable contributions and leadership, especially under thedifficult and challenging environment of the past year. The Board and Management wish him well forhis future endeavours.”

Separately, the company’s CFO, Ng Hin Lee, became Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer witheffect from 4 January 2010. Ng, who joined SingPost in 2006, will concurrently hold the functionsand responsibilities of the CFO.

Ng was responsible for the successful conclusion of the Postea deal in which SingPost took a30% stake in the US-based postal and logistics technology solutions company. He also played a majorrole in the full acquisition of its then joint-venture G3 WorldWide Aspac which has since beenrenamed Quantium Solutions International.

SingPost’s mail business will continue to be headed by Executive Vice President Woo KengLeong, a veteran with 30 years of postal experience. Its retail and financial services is led byExecutive Vice President Loh Choo Beng while its logistics business is managed by Vice PresidentRaymond Huang. SingPost’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Quantium Solutions International, is headed byExecutive Vice President Teo Yew Hwa.
