DHL ships 25 millionth parcel for German teleshopping channel

DHL shipped its 25 millionth parcel for the German teleshopping channel HSE24 before Christmas on23 December 2009.



Three years ago, DHL Supply Chain, the contract logistics unit of Deutsche Post DHL, tookover the fulfillment services of the home shopping specialist based in Munich.

The 22,000 sqm picking warehouse of HSE24 near Osnabrück in Lower Saxony is directly linkedto the DHL parcel distribution centre in Greven, North Rhine-Westphalia via an automated haulageroad offering HSE24 an integrated solution.

Through the direct connection of the HSE24 logistics centre with the neighbouring parcelcentre in Greven, DHL ensures complete logistics processes saving time while controlling the entireprocess.

“We reached the anniversary much earlier than expected at the beginning of our partnership.We are happy together with our customer HSE24 about the growth and the successful cooperation,”said Ralf Ritscher, DHL Supply Chain Central Europe, responsible for customer management at DHL’sdivision Home Delivery.

“The right product, a distinctive customer orientation as well as high service quality areour basis for a successful business model,” commented Koen Verbrugge, area manager Service &Operations at HSE24.

Teleshopping is characterised through short planning cycles along with quick response timesto changed customer demand. Therefore, flexibility, speed and one-stop solutions are requiredranging from goods reception to home delivery, DHL said in a statement.

Through its unit Home Delivery specialised in logistics solutions for distance trade, DHLSupply Chain provides all services from purchasing, quality control, storage, commissioning,packaging to shipping, home delivery and return management.
