France Express, the express subsidiary of major French transport and logistics group Geodis, haslaunched a new international air service under the name ‘Fly Express’.
Fly Express offers international air express delivery for shipments up to 68kgs betweenFrance and more than 200 countries around the world. Customers benefit from one single contactperson for both domestic and international shipments, and the same documentation and trackingsystem, the company said in an online announcement.
Transit times range from one to three working days, including 1-2 days from France to mostEuropean destinations, 1-2 days to the USA and 2-4 days to China, it noted. The name of theinternational express partner was not disclosed. However, Geodis is the French distribution partnerof FedEx Express.
France Express, which is a Geodis Calberson subsidiary, has so far offered ground-basedEuropean distribution through the Net Express Europe alliance, covering road transportation to 21countries.
Following three acquisitions earlier this year, France Express operates a network of 112depots and has a fleet of 2,000 vehicles. It handles some 13.5 million items a year and specialisesin twice-daily deliveries across France.
