Geodis Calberson and APC Overnight have agreed to cooperate in the UK, linking up their pallets andparcels distribution networks to offer broader services to their respective customers. Geodis has
also unveiled other growth measures for the British market.Under their strategic alliance, Geodis Calberson will gain access to APC Overnight’s broad UKparcels distribution network. In return, APC gains access to Geodis Calberson’s palletsdistribution network, which is operated under the Fortec brand, as well as to its Europeandistribution network. The 125 APC depots will be linked to the combined hub at Watford Gap, northof London, which acts as a hub for Geodis Calberson’s Fortec network and shipments to/from mainlandEurope.
Jamie Cuthbert, UK managing director of Geodis Calberson, commented: “Our partnership withAPC Overnight will enable us to offer a UK parcel product to all of our customers.” In particular,Geodis Calberson’s import parcels will be distributed throughout Britain by APC, while Geodis willdistribute APC’s export parcels.
In other moves as part of its £2 million investment programme, Geodis Calberson has announceda new wine logistics service, has upgraded the Fortec IT system and is modernising and extendingits British truck fleet with 15 new trailers and 10 new tractor units.
