FedEx Express teams up with MNG Kargo in Turkey

FedEx Express has signed up major air cargo company and domestic express operator MNG Kargo as itsglobal service participant in Turkey to expand its business in the emerging market.



Under the new agreement, customers will benefit from a number of FedEx Express services,including access to next-business-day services within Europe and to the United States, as well asservices to and from Asia, FedEx Express announced.

“Our new relationship with MNG Kargo demonstrates FedEx’s ongoing commitment to this growingmarket,” said Robert W. Elliott, president, FedEx Express, Europe, Middle East, IndianSub-continent and Africa. “MNG Kargo is a leading service provider in the transportation industry,and we’re confident that the new relationship will enhance our business flexibility and give ourcustomers greater access to new products and services.”

MNG Kargo’s vice president and general manager Aslan Kut echoed these thoughts. “Through ournew agreement with FedEx Express, we have a renewed ability to provide a world class service to ourcustomers in Turkey, as well as evolve into a truly global company,” Kut said. “By structuring ourtechnology and operational processes to the highest standard, we’ve been able to move swiftly withthe integration to maintain our superior customer service levels.”

Founded in February 2003, MNG Kargo is one of the largest domestic express companiesoperating in Turkey, with a network of 26 central hubs and over 600 branches in the region. Thecompany also has around 2,000 vehicles and a staff base of over 6,000 employees across 1,200locations in Turkey. With its innovative range of products and services in the area of fast andreliable transportation, MNG Kargo’s regional stations will link into the existing FedEx Expressglobal network, which currently serves over 220 countries and territories worldwide.
