DPD Continental, a joint venture in India between GeoPost and Continental Air Express, has openedtwo new depots to expand its network in the country.
After successfully creating a base for itself in Delhi and Mumbai, DPD Continental has nowstarted expanding its operations, with particular focus on the business centres in the southernmetropolitan regions of Bangalore and Chennai where the new depots are located.
At present, DPD Continental is concentrating on the import and export of parcel shipments toand from India, and has set itself the aim of providing its customers with especially simple andreliable shipping solutions. In addition to its own infrastructure, DPD Continental uses thecapacities of the Continental Carriers Group, which has been operating on India’s express andparcel market for 52 years now and is one of India’s top freight forwarders. Continental AirExpress Pvt Ltd is an associate company of the Continental Carriers Group.
DPD Continental considers both Bangalore and Chennai as the principal growth markets inIndia. As India’s IT capital, Bangalore offers the company just as promising growth opportunitiesas Chennai, the former Madras. It is home to a large part of India’s electronics industry as wellas a large number of mechanical engineering companies and textile manufacturers, DPD said in astatement.

With the current expansion of DPD’s parcel operationsin India we are optimising access to the Indian market for our customers with DPD’s reliablequality standards, and at the same time coming closer to our Indian customers,” explained DPD CEOArnold Schroven.
