German courier Profex continues network expansion throughout Europe

Profex, a German courier specialising in time-critical deliveries, has further expanded its networkto cover 54 partners throughout Europe. The company aims at further expansion to all European

markets by the end of 2010.

As part of the Hannover-based operator’s expansion strategy, another partner has been addedto its international network and four new partners to the national network. Profex is one of theleading time-critical courier operators in Germany and had revenues of €104 million in 2007.

The latest international partner is French courier service provider Atouts Service (ATS), atransportation specialist located in Bayonne, France. According to Profex, ATS is thesecond-largest company in this market segment in France and also has several offices in Poland andSpain.

Stephan D’Auria, Managing Director of Profex commented on the acquisition of French ATS: “Weperfectly complement each other and both have the same philosophy.” Pierre Campana, ATS owner, seesoperational benefits on both sides through the partnership. “Germany is our core market. WithProfex, we have the right partner to ensure an easy and high quality procurement logistics servicefor our customers,” he said.

D’Auria defined the growth market Europe as the operator’s main target. “We are present innine countries within Europe already and we aim at being active in all European markets by the endof 2010.” Other new international partners recently acquired include L&D Logistics (UK), MexlogKurierdienst (Austria), ITS Danmark, Logistik kft (Hungary) and MS Trans Expresso (Portugal).Partners are being sought in Spain and Italy.

Meanwhile, the domestic network of Profex has been strengthened by four new partners inBaden-Württemberg, south-west Germany: Fritz Spedition, Heilbronn, Schwerdtfeger Transport,Filderstadt, GTEXS, Esslingen, and CC Trans, Neu-Ulm.

“With these acquisitions we can compensate for the loss of Flashline and increase ourpresence significantly on this important regional market”, D’Auria commented. Flashline was boughtby French group Flash Europe.

At the end of last year, Profex added 14 new system partners within Germany and now aims tocomplete its nationwide network by the end of 2009.
