DPD Switzerland has launched an innovative new service by providing customers of coop@home, theCoop online supermarket, with evening home deliveries on the same day as their purchase.
Beginning with the cantons of Thurgau and Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland, coop@home nowoffers home deliveries between 18:00 and 21:00 Monday to Friday for orders placed by 17:00 on thesame day. The service was launched on 17 August.
Thanks to DPD Switzerland, the approx. 130,000 households in these two cantons can nowbenefit from evening delivery of their shopping with coop@home.
After placing the commission for the building of its new national logistics centre in Buchs(canton of Zurich) and the conclusion of a contract with GastroSuisse for cooperation with hotelsand restaurants for the delivery of parcels, DPD Switzerland said it is taking a further major steptowards enhancing its services and the quality of life of its customers.
DPD Switzerland has a workforce of 700 and operates 12 logistics centres.
