DHL teams up with eBay subsidiary for automation of shipping processes

DHL Parcel Germany has signed a cooperation agreement with Afterbuy, a German eBay subsidiary,enabling online traders to improve their selling and shipping processes.



Through high-grade process automation, Afterbuy offers online business traders professionaland efficient sales management enabling customers to handle and administrate their auctions andonline sales with a minimum amount of work. The value-added chain is thereby completely displayedfrom inventory management, strategic sales planning and offer product placing on differentplatforms to the complete sales order process. The service also includes customer communication andshipping preparations.

Together with the invoice from Afterbuy, customers can also print the appropriate DHLshipping labels from now on under the deal. The time spent on the whole selling process is thusreduced considerably thanks to the quick and smooth interconnection of Afterbuy’s online softwareand DHL’s shipping software.

At the same time, the transport status of the parcels is directly transmitted into the orderoverview with the shipping number, dispatch confirmation and shipment date making Afterbuy auniversal shipping cockpit for DHL customers.

Launched in 2002, Afterbuy started charging money for its services in the beginning of 2003to become one of the leading complete solutions for business trading on eBay and other onlinemarket places. Afterbuy currently has over 51,000 users and administrates around 68 millionarticles. The cooperation with DHL runs initially until November 2010.
