Chinese e-commerce platform DHgate uses UPS for logistics

Major Chinese e-commerce platform DHgate has teamed up with UPS for its international logistics tohelp Chinese SMEs target the international market more effectively.



Under the cooperation, logistics costs for buyers and sellers on DHgate will be reduced by70% or more by using the UPS worldwide network, according to the company’s CEO Diane Wang.

As a recommended shipping partner, UPS is offering exclusive discounted prices for DHgatecustomers, and the two partners’ IT systems have been linked to improve the information flow,DHgate announced. There will also be incentives and rewards for shipping with UPS.

Founded in 2004 by Diane Wang, an award-winning former Microsoft and Cisco China executive,DHgate claims to list over 10 million products at wholesale prices. It markets products from400,000 Chinese wholesalers and manufacturers, and has a customer base of three million buyersworldwide. In the first half of 2009, it had turnover of CNY 1 billion (€103.5 million), accordingto international media.
