UPS has launched an economical ground service for shipping small packages from Mexico to the UnitedStates.
Known as UPS Standard, the service offers business customers a new tool for managing theirtransportation costs for less-urgent packages, the company announced. It was introduced on July 13.
Through connecting the company’s extensive domestic networks in Mexico and the US, UPS saidit can offer a ground service between the two countries that covers every address in Mexico andcontinental USA.
Packages shipped via UPS Standard are expected to reach their final destinations within3-to-7 days, UPS said. Other benefits include a money-back guarantee, complete package visibilityand free pick-up service, often on the same day.
“UPS Standard is a perfect complement to a UPS service portfolio that provides customersmultiple transportation options for their express and deferred shipments,” said Griselda Hernandez,UPS Mexico country manager. “With 85 percent of Mexico’s total exports bound for the USA, it’simportant to give businesses a range of reliable shipping choices that cover this busy NorthAmerican trade lane.”
UPS has operated in Mexico for 20 years, increasing its network to 70 operating centres andmore than 2,000 employees while expanding its extensive portfolio of services.
