PIN Mail launches electronic mail shipping service in Germany

PIN Mail

German PIN Mail has launched a new online service for private and business customers with smallmailing volumes enabling them to ship their letters over the internet.

As a first move to a hybrid future of mail distribution, Duesseldorf-based PIN Mail nowoffers an electronic mailbox service which is available via the company’s online portal from July1, 2009, offering customers an alternative solution to the classical letter drop and pick-up. Theeconomically priced and practical service concept can be accessed from any internet connection.

The company’s new hybrid mail system is based on a solution developed by pawisda systemsGmbH, a leading system and service provider for the digital mailing sector. The system completestime-consuming tasks for the customer in one step such as printing letters, enveloping and takingthem to the next mailbox. It avoids any geographical competition barriers by accomplishing theprint-out of the letters as close as possible to the recipient’s location for distribution by PINMail or Deutsche Post.

Customers can now prepare their letters online and send them through an easy-to-handledocument upload to the electronic mailbox. After registering at PIN Mail’s online portal, they canupload their business or private letters in the usual document format including logo and text aswell as any document attachments. They can choose between the type of product and single ormulti-colour printing.

For larger volumes, lists of addresses in csv format can be uploaded together with a masterdocument for serial letters. No software download is needed. Service and materials such as letterpaper, printing, enveloping, postage and dispatch are included in the price starting at €0,64 perletter.

PIN Mail recently announced the strategic distribution partnership with TNT Post, under whichTNT acquired shares in the regional mail companies of the major German publishing group Georg vonHoltzbrinck. TNT Post Germany currently covers about 90% of German households with a nationwidedelivery network working together with many different distribution partners.
