DHL Express has signed a corporate agreement with ONE Bank Limited in Bangladesh to provide airexpress solutions to the bank and its customers, according to the newspaper The Financial Express.
Under the deal, DHL Express will from now on ship the time-sensitive international documentsof ONE Bank. The corporate agreement was recently signed by Desmond Quiah, Country Manager of DHLExpress Bangladesh, and Farman R. Chowdhury, Managing Director of ONE Bank.
DHL’s services to the bank include automated shipment preparation, pre-scheduled pick-ups,shipment management at operational facilities such as gateways and hubs as well as delivery ofshipments to consignee with up-to-the-minute track and trace capability, The Financial Expressreported.
In 2008, the operating profit of the private commercial banks (PCBs) in Bangladesh has grownby BDT 5 billion (€50.88 million) which equals an industry growth of 28.63%, ONE Bank reported. Thebank itself has generated a strong growth of 19.22% with an operating profit of BDT 1.1 billion(€11.27 million) last year compared to 2007.
