DHL Express is the first international express operator to open an office in Grosny, the capital ofthe Chechen Republic, Russian media reported.
Adrian Marley, the managing director of DHL Express, CIS countries and Southeastern Europe,stressed that the Chechen Republic is nowadays one of the most dynamically developing regions inthe Northern Caucasus located between Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
DHL expects that launching operations in the Chechen Republic will help businesses andprivate customers to work with partners in Russia and abroad more efficiently profiting from thecompany’s global infrastructure that comprises over 220 countries in the world.
“The opening of the first-ever office for international express delivery in the ChechenRepublic goes in line with one of the main principles of DHL – to be where our customers need us,”Marley said. “I am confident that our presence in the Northern Caucasus will contribute to thecountry’s development.”
Using all the benefits of a global company, DHL will offer customers in Grosny a wide rangeof shipments and cargo delivery services within Russia and abroad. The office will operate strictlyin line with international standards in quality and safety of services, Marley concluded.
The majority of big cities in the country have been reconstructed with the airport in Grosnyoperating round the clock. It operates flights to Moscow two times a day and plans to add airconnections from Grosny to Tyumen in Siberia, St. Petersburg and Alma-Ata, the largest city inKazakhstan. The rapid development in the region is driven by growth in business activity with anincreasing demand for reliable express delivery services among private and business customers.
According to media reports, industrial production in the Chechen Republic has grownconsiderably over the last few years with mining operations accounting for more than 60% of thecompanies’ sales volumes.
