DHL Global Mail improves transit times for international mail

DHL Global Mail has significantly improved its transit times and turned out to be faster indelivering international mail than its global competitors, according to a recent survey.



The evaluated survey conducted by the global market research company Ipsos showed that DHLGlobal Mail cut transit times for standard and priority mail by 2.4 days on average compared to2004 when the previous survey was conducted. In addition, DHL Global Mail is faster than its globalcompetitors on most links and also often beats its own service commitment, the survey furtherrevealed.

On the trade lanes tested in the survey, DHL Global Mail said that it is on average more thanone day faster than all other tested global competitors, including Swiss Post International (SPI)and Spring. Furthermore, a comparison of the survey results with the service commitment on the DHLGlobal Mail website reveals that DHL Global Mail continuously delivers its mail on average morethan one day faster than promised to its customers.

As part of the four-week survey, a total of 10,351 test mail items were shipped to measurethe international transit times of major service providers. The transit times of business priorityand standard mail were surveyed on 73 major international trade lanes, with mail items sent bycorporate mystery shoppers from Europe (Austria, The Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Germany,United Kingdom) and Asia (Singapore, Australia) to selected European and worldwide destinations.

The pick-up was arranged and test letters were sent continuously during the survey.Afterwards, a trained team of test customers confirmed the receipt of the mail.

In addition to this survey, DHL Global Mail tests its mail transit times independently on aregular base in order to ensure the high quality level offered to its customers.
