DHL Express is expanding its digital resources for SMEs with the launch of an innovative e-tool,eMailShip, for the express services industry in Latin America and the Caribbean.
DHL eMailShip is free of charge and designed to increase the shipment process efficiency ofSMEs through the use of e-mail. Available in 28 Latin America and Caribbean countries, it iseliminating the use of telephones and paper by using Acrobat PDF to prepare and book shipments. Thetool also stores, identifies and reuses data for future shipments, allowing access to shippingdocuments without the need to search for field documents. In addition, the program’s electronicvalidation system automatically identifies common errors.
Roger Crook, CEO of DHL Express International Americas, commented: “The simplicity andagility of this tool is similar to providing customers with a walkie-talkie equipped with directaccess to our couriers, drivers and pilots, yet handled through a medium that is already familiarand used on a daily basis. What had taken 20 minutes now takes less than 5 minutes.”
The launch of the e-tool is part of a DHL Express program designed to support the growth andcompetitiveness of SMEs in Latin America and the Caribbean. In February 2009, DHL also introducedan online resource center and trade database in 38 countries in Latin America, the Caribbean andCanada.
