DHL Express Poland offers e-commerce home deliveries

DHL Express has continued its expansion in Poland with the launch of home deliveries for goodsordered on the internet and the opening of a new regional sorting centre.



The new e-commerce service, launched last month, is targeted at companies selling online andweb shops, and offers next-day deliveries. The premium DHL Domestic Express 9:00 service promisesdelivery before 09:00 the next day, DHL Domestic Express 12:00 provides delivery by noon orcustomers can select delivery by end of the next working day. Other product options include onlinetracking, shipment status notification by e-mail, COD payment and POD confirmation.

Pawel Lazar, sales director for DHL Express Poland, commented: “Online trading is one of thefastest growing market segments.”  The company aimed to meet customer expectations in thismarket segment and would closely monitor trends in order to offer efficient services, he added.

Meanwhile, DHL Express opened a new 1,000 sqm sorting terminal at Gorzow Wielkopolski, innorth-west Poland, in March. The terminal’s sorting system has capacity to handle up to 2,500 itemsper hour. The new facility is designed to cope with a 60% increase in volumes in the region in thelast two years and is part of the company’s ongoing modernisation and extension of its Polishnetwork.
