FedEx Express has announced the expansion of its FedEx World Service Centers (WSCs) with theopening of four new centres in Mexico City.
The new FedEx WSCs, located at Insurgentes Sur Avenue, Polanco, Vallejo Road and PatriotismoAvenue, respond to the demands of FedEx Express Nacional, the company’s new domestic expressservice that serves all 32 Mexican states. The four new locations bring the total number of FedExWSCs in Mexico to 35, in addition to the 326 FedEx Authorized Ship Center Locations (FASC) acrossthe country.
The opening of the new FedEx WSCs reinforces the company’s commitment to investing in theeconomic development of the country, FedEx Express said in a statement. The locations for thenew centers were determined by their proximity to areas with a high volume of small- andmedium-sized businesses (SMBs). According to the Ministry of Economics in Mexico, SMBs represent95% of businesses in the country, generate 52% of the GDP and provide 70% of the jobs.
The new WSCs offer the two domestic shipping services, FedEx Express Nacional 10:30 AM (FedExPriority Overnight), and FedEx Express Nacional DÃa Siguiente (FedEx Standard Overnight) fornext-business-day delivery in Mexico of documents and parcels weighing up to 68 kg. Customers canalso ship international documents and parcels from the locations.
The new FedEx WSCs also offer a new automated shipping service that helps improve thecustomer experience by streamlining the shipping and tracking process. The automated system isuser-friendly and provides customers with a step-by-step guide including a scale, touch screenmonitor and printer to help expedite shipping. If customers have any questions a FedEx ServiceAgent will be there to assist them.
