DHL Express has announced the launch of its full suite of Intra-Asia DHL Economy Select services,including outbound shipments in India and 17 other locations in Asia Pacific. The deferred delivery
service is up to 30% cheaper than premium express delivery.DHL Economy Select offers the convenience of door-to-door delivery of non-time-sensitiveoutbound consignments within Asia Pacific at lower shipping costs. These added advantages arewithout any compromise in service quality or access to in-house customs expertise, DHL India saidin a statement.
DHL Economy Select is now available as a fully outbound intra-Asia service offering inAustralia, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Nepal, NewZealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. The servicewill be extended between Asia Pacific / Europe and Asia Pacific / US by Q4 2009.

Providing better flexibility and choice to customers, DHL Economy Select service offers costsavings of up to 30%, especially for shipments of over 45 kg. Unlike DHL’s premium guaranteedTime-Definite service for critical shipments, DHL Economy Select is suited to non-time sensitiveshipments with a transit period of two to four business days, depending on location.
With DHL Economy Select, the shipments are handled at the same level of service appropriatedto other smaller, time-sensitive parcels, allowing customers to benefit from full end-to-endcheckpoint visibility and simplified paperwork due to the provision of a single invoice with nohidden transportation costs upon delivery.
