UPS Philippines and 2GO to link up in alliance

UPS Philippines has partnered with local supply chain solutions provider 2GO expanding its coverageacross the country, media reported.



The sales alliance with 2GO, the integrated logistics provider under the Aboitiz TransportSystem (ATS), will provide customers more access to UPS express services while offering exportcapabilities to 2GO.

UPS’ access points for customers with international express delivery requirements willincrease to more than 200. The company will provide 2GO’s customers access to its global networkconnecting them to more than 200 countries and territories. UPS will provide training to 2GOoperations and sales staff to ensure that the network provides the service quality.

Tim Gohoc, Managing Director of UPS Philippines said: “This sales alliance combines UPS’international reach and comprehensive range of services and technology solutions and 2GO’s localindustry knowledge. With UPS’ cutting-edge technology, superior operational efficiency and range ofvalue-added services in express delivery, Filipino businesses can further enhance their ability tocompete globally.”

Sabin Aboitiz, President of 2GO, said that customers would benefit the most from the UPS-2GOsales alliance as it would provide unparalleled service standards for express shipments to and fromall their business destinations across the globe. With the company’s extensive local network,Aboitiz said 2GO would promote UPS’ international express delivery in the Philippines and alsoperform pick-up and delivery services for customers with international express delivery needs.

During the fourth quarter of 2008, UPS continued to invest in Asia Pacific, expanding itspresence in China with the opening of its new hub in Shanghai. In addition, the company beganbuilding a new intra-Asian hub in Shenzhen which will replace its current intra-Asia hub in thePhilippines on opening in 2010.
