Hermes offers parcel shop delivery service in Germany

Hermes has launched a new shipping solution “Shop2Shop” offering customers the opportunity to shiptheir parcels from one parcel shop in Germany to another at a favourable price.



As an alternative to door-to-door delivery, “Shop2Shop” customers who are not at home atusual delivery times can send a parcel to the nearest parcel shop instead.

With the new service coming into effect on 23 March this year, Hermes transports parcels ofthe category S (up to 50cm) at a price of €3.65 offering safe delivery and time-flexible pick-upservice without any delays. Ebay customers can benefit from even better conditions with a price of€3.55 for the same service, the company said in a statement.

“Shop2Shop” is based on direct delivery from one “shipper” parcel shop to another “recipient”parcel shop. The price for the new solution includes the usual Hermes services such as insurancecover of up to €500, a weight restriction of 25 kg in total, a tracking option as well as transittimes of 2-3 days.

“With the Shop2Shop solution, Hermes provides the most attractive parcel in terms of price,service, and convenience in Germany, “ said Frank Iden, Hermes sales and marketing director. “Thepick-up service in our 14,000 parcel shops is comfortable and works great. In addition, ourcustomers don’t need to wait in long queues before their parcel is taken from one of our parcelshop partners.”

“Until now, parcel shop delivery could only be used by customers receiving shipments frommail-order companies. With Shop2Shop, the alternative delivery address is also available for thereception of private parcels,” Iden explained.

The Shop2Shop solution can be ordered online and is valid for S parcels only, Hermes added.
