APC Overnight, one of UK’s largest independent parcels carriers, has won a major contract with theleading UK camping and leisure equipment company, Towsure, for next day delivery.
APC was chosen for the contract with Towsure, which ships over 800 parcels a day from itsdistribution centre in Sheffield, to supply both trade and retail customers purchasing from thecompany’s mail order catalogue or online store. The national parcel network’s local depot APCCourier Logistics provides resources on site to streamline rapid dispatch of customer orders.
As part of the contract, a member of APC Overnight’s staff is based in the Towsure warehousebeing responsible for handling picked orders, scanning them into the system and loading them intothe cages and onto the trailer for dispatch. These are trunked to the APC Overnight hub inWolverhampton to be sent on to their final destination for prompt next day delivery.

Integration of APC Overnight’s IT with Towsure’s business systems maximises efficiency at theSheffield warehouse as well as enabling customers to track parcels online. The integration betweenTowsure’s Sage Line 100 and the APC Overnight’s system has boosted productivity and efficiency byincorporating weights for each product. These details exist within the ERP system and allow forautomatic inclusion of weights on each label without physically weighing the parcels. This meansthat parcels can flow through the network from point to point without having to check weights.
