Time:matters expands same-day network through partnership with Brussels Airlines

Brussels Airlines

German same-day express and emergency logistics provider time:matters has signed an agreement withBrussels Airlines to expand the flight frequency of its same-day network.

Under the new partnership, time:matters will profit from the broad international line networkof the Belgian airline, headquartered at Brussel-Zaventem airport, transporting its same-dayshipments via additional routes to European destinations such as Munich, Zurich or Brussels. Eachweek, time:matters can thus use 852 additional direct flights from Brussels to 44 European Same-dayAir Stations. The increased flight frequency allows the company to offer an expanded services tocustomers in the same-day sector thus increasing the flexibility when it comes to choosing thefastest connection.

The expansion of the time:matters same-day network is not only beneficial to Belgian but alsothe remaining European customers of the Lufthansa subsidiary. Through using the Brussels airport asanother hub for shipping European same-day parcels, the company partly reduces delivery times fromand to Belgium and cross-border destinations significantly. For example, a same-day shipment fromWarsaw to Masstricht can now be flown via Brussels instead of the previous route via Frankfurt andAmsterdam. The transport time is thus reduced by two hours to only four hours.

The cooperation is especially beneficial in terms of direct flights that Brussels Airlinesoffers from its hub in Brussels. The previously needed transit flights via Frankfurt or Munich cannow be dropped completely. A direct flight from Brussels to Gothenburg, for example, saves acustomer two and a half hours as the transport time is reduced to only two hours. Through theintegration of the Brussels Airlines connections into the European time:matters line network, customers can even partly profit from later cut-off times.

“The same-day network of time:matters is unique in its density and frequency in Europe,” saidPeter Allard, Country Manager, time:matters Belgium. “The cooperation provides a significant timeadvantage for us in terms of the same-day delivery of goods with time:matters. Therefore, ourservice can be used in a more flexible and spontaneous way.”
