Chronopost has launched a new express delivery service for fresh products in cooperation with AirLiquide, a global gas provider for the production industry, the health sector and environment, and
GoldPack, a specialist in isothermal packaging.Under the exclusive three-year agreement, Chronopost now provides a new express solutioncalled Chrono Temp for the food industry delivering fresh products as auto-refrigerated parcels ofless than 30 kg to restaurants, groceries, catering companies etc. Chrono Temp targets all kinds offood companies sending more than 20 parcels a day to meet the growing demand for urgenttransportation of fresh food. The service represents a potential 17 million of additional parcelssent via express per year.
Air Liquide supplies the Carboglace, a source of autonomic cold that can be delivered orproduced directly at the site of the particular shipper while Coldpack provides isothermalpackaging called Airliner. Its inflatable and isolated envelope enables the food to be kept freshat a stable temperature but also absorbs crashes and saves space in the warehouse.
Gerald Cavalier, CEO of Cemafroid, an expert in cold chain solutions, commented: “Thisservice offered to companies is an innovation in terms of logistics under controlled temperature,complementing the traditional solutions.”
“The solution enables us to deliver our half cooked goose liver pâté to all our 60 groceryoutlets and track the parcels in real time while respecting the cold chain”, said Michel Artagnan,responsible for Transport Management of Comtesse du Barry, a French deli.
