DHL has signed a three-year contract with T-Systems, the corporate customer division of DeutscheTelekom, for it to join the DHL Innovation Initiative as a Global Partner with the aim to design
innovative technical solutions.T-Systems is the fifth major global company added to the unique research network of the DHLInnovation Initiative of Deutsche Post World Net (DPWN).
For a minimum of three years, the two companies will use their expertise to raise efficiencyin supply chains via technologies such as telematics and mobile services. To that end, thecompanies will set up concepts, conduct tests and demonstrations as well as launch pilots incooperation with other partners.

Weare confident that all partners will benefit from the network by being able to better respond tocustomers’ future requirements”, said John Allan, Chief Financial Officer at DHL parent DPWN andManagement Board Member in charge of the Group’s Global Business Services.
One key focus of the partnership will be on mobile services. As part of the project, the twocompanies will explore how mobile technology can be used to improve processes at DPWN or contributeto the convenience and availability of the Group’s products and services. The companies also expectto discover new information and communication trends and get a chance to closely examine theirimpact in the field of logistic or postal services.
The DHL Innovation Center, which bundles the research and development activities of DPWN,counts on strong partnerships to develop innovative solutions for the logistics and otherindustries. Partners that agree to offer their cutting-edge technology, in exchange can gaininsights into the business processes and requirements of the logistics industry. Based on thisinformation, the partners are able to tailor their solutions even better to the needs of theircustomers.
The DHL Innovation Center also offers the possibility to test products and solutions in itslaboratory and conduct pilots together with the Group’s business units. Among the global partnersare now T-Systems, SAP, Intel, Motorola and IBM, Among the scientific research partners are theFraunhofer Gesellschaft and the Massachussetts Institute of Technology.
