DHL Global Mail targets French e-commerce firms with European parcel distribution

DHL Global Mail, the specialist in postal solutions, has launched an exclusive parcel service, DHLGlobal Mail Parcel, to simplify European deliveries for French e-commerce operators, thus reducing

costs and optimising logistics processes.

The new solution enables professionals based in France, particularly in e-commerce, to managethe dispatch of all their flows of goods to European destinations with the aid of a singleinformation system. DHL Global Mail Parcel already exists in some European countries providingpan-European delivery along with shipping services to the rest of the world.

The service standardises European delivery procedures from France by offering a singleproduct, a single organisation, a single computerised interface and a single point of contact forall shipments, whatever their destination. The improved service thus contributes to increasingcustomer satisfaction, DHL Global Mail said in a statement.

With this solution, DHL Global Mail Parcel comprises intermediate transport, multi-countryparcel distribution and a single information system to centralise the processes. This serviceenables the company to respond to the European development strategy of French e-commerce companies,allowing them to retain centralised control of their logistics from France.

DHL Global Mail picks up parcels directly from the sender and then takes them to its closestinternational platforms. The goods are then sorted by destination country to be dispatched byintermediate transport provided by DHL’s international resources. When they reach the destinationcountry, they are treated as local parcels by the national postal operators, at special ratesnegotiated by DHL Global Mail.

In addition, the solution also enables its customers to view the whereabouts of their parcelsat all times, thanks to online tracking via the Internet. This service assures efficient managementof the shipments of e-commerce operators, with recorded delivery and handling of customer returnsand undeliverable items, the two key factors in the successful development of the export businessto European consumers, DHL Global Mail added.
