In addition to speed, they require strict control of deliveries and great care inplanning to ensure articles reach their destinations in the more than 220 countries served by thecompany.
Guilherme Gatti, director of Marketing and Communications, FedEx Express Latin America andthe Caribbean, said that aside from economic conditions, there are other obstacles to theglobalization of the fashion industry such as production costs, fluctuating exchange rates, notenough credit grants, and labour issues.
“To overcome these challenges, FedEx offers efficient transportation solutions, which includechecking documentation and customs clearance at destinations and providing door-to-door delivery ofgoods in one to three business days,” Gatti said. “Our intention is to build closer relationshipswith design and production centres for the textile and fashion industries, underscoring FedExcommitment to offer local entrepreneurs the best solutions to access global markets and consumers,”he explained.
Fashion is a market that needs immediate access, as the articles have a short lifespan, varying with every season, FedEx said. “New trends must get through the production chains and reachconsumers at express speed, otherwise they are outdated. This emphasizes the importance of beingable to count on a company that can guarantee fast and efficient delivery to any customer, anywherein the world,” Gatti added.
