Middle East-based express and freight logistics group Aramex was recently honoured by the Roads andTransport Authority (RTA) for its achievements in road transport at the Dubai Award for Sustainable
Transport (DAST) event.Reputed for its sustainable business practices, the global logistics provider was recognisedfor delivering courier packages by using alternative marine transport methods. These include the ‘Waterway’ Express Delivery Service operating along Dubai’s shoreline.
The Crown Prince of Dubai, HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, handed theaward to the winners at a special ceremony in Dubai, where Hussein Hachem, Aramex CEO for the Gulfregion, received the award on behalf of Aramex.
“We are delighted to be honoured by the RTA as we have always been advocates of sustainabletransport and are committed to long-term solutions. We are proud to have launched an innovativetransport alternative and are constantly looking at ways to promote sustainable practices acrossour operations,” said Hussein Hachem.
DAST was launched by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), which invited governmentdepartments and private sector companies nominated for innovative transport solutions and practicesthat are contributing to sustainable transport in Dubai.
