Swiss Post takes over Canon logistics centre to expand capacity

Swiss Post is expanding its logistics capacity by taking over the logistics centre of Canon inMägenwil, mid-way between Zurich and Basel, with effect from 1 January 2009.



Until now, Swiss Post has had relatively limited logistics capacity. With the acquisition ofCanon logistics centre, the company is expanding its logistics services in line with its growthstrategy it has been pursuing for a long time in the field of logistics. Swiss Post will also takeover the 30 employees working at the site. 

The centre at Mägenwil, lying in the district of Baden (canton of Aargau), is perfectlylocated next to the future distribution base of the postal operator which is currently inconstruction. With optimal access to road and rail connections, the new location fits well into thelogistics structure of Swiss Post. At the new site, the company will offer its customers storageareas and services in warehousing logistics.

PostLogistics provides a one-stop solution for its business customers as well as consultationservices for sending parcels, express and mail shipments along with cargo transportation andwarehousing logistics.
