German express company trans-o-flex has announced the conclusion of a long-term agreement withMurnauer Markenvertrieb GmbH, a specialist for body care products, taking over warehousing and
distribution services. The value of the contract was not disclosed.The agreement follows the development of a complete solution for warehousing and distributionservices by trans-o-flex and will be effective from December 1, 2008. Murnauer has also secured thecomplete solution for warehousing and distribution services over the next five years.
As part of the long-term agreement, trans-o-flex will take over warehousing andorder-specific picking as well as shipment preparation and distribution of the company’s healthybody care products. The warehouse of trans-o-flex Logistik Service GmbH in Weinheim, south-westGermany, will offer space for storage of 2,200 pallets of Murnauer’s products. Where recipientcustomers operate their own distribution networks, e.g. drugstore chains, trans-o-flex will deliverthe goods to the commissioned forwarding agency.
Managing director of Murnauer, Fred-Joachim Kühn, said: “Due to trans-o-flex’s strength inthe cosmetics and healthcare industry, we have been successfully cooperating with them in thedistribution of our products for several years now. When trans-o-flex recently presented itsoverall concept, I was surprised at the company’s logistic competence.”
Both companies are now in the process of finalising the coordination of operational anddata-relevant issues.
