United Airlines passengers flying within the USA can now have their luggage delivered by FedExinstead of having to take it with them on the plane.
The US airline announced a new ‘Door-to-Door Baggage’ service under which FedEx Express willpick up luggage from homes or offices and deliver it overnight to the passenger’s destination.Luggage could include suitcases, golf clubs, skies and other typical airline passenger items.
The service will cost $149 one-way for flights less than 1,000 miles, or $179 for longerflights. United said its prices are “simple and more economical than similar overnight servicesoffered by other luggage shipping services”.
To use the service, passengers can go online, select the appropriate trip, pay for thedoor-to-door delivery, and print the shipping documents which the FedEx courier attaches to thebags.
