GLS Austria claims “Express-Parcel” is 100% on-time

GLS Austria said it has recorded a continuously growing demand for its “Express-Parcel” serviceintroduced in February this year and is achieving 100% on-time delivery within the defined

time-frame.

Nine months after the introduction of the service, the shipment volumes are steadily growingat double-digit rates, the company said in a statement. Next-day delivery by 17:00 is the standardoption of the express service. Similar to basic parcel delivery, Express-Parcel can be combinedwith various additional services such as complementary insurance as well as time-definite andSaturday deliveries.

The special feature of the Austrian express product is its integration in the company’sparcel system. “The processes are complex in terms of operational flow as well as IT,” explainedKlaus Schädle, Managing Director GLS Europe South. “Therefore, we are especially happy about thehigh level of reliability: in express, our on-time delivery rate is 100%.”

“We are recording a steep, continuous shipment volumes growth. Last month, the volumes evendoubled. Along with the shipment volumes, the number of customers entrusting us with their domesticexpress parcels is growing too. For most of them, we have already been transporting domestic andinternational standard parcels and the one-stop express delivery is an appreciated complement,”Schädle added.

According to GLS Austria, the 12:00 delivery is the most popular service option accountingfor about 40% of all GLS express shipments nationwide.
