DHL Express opens three drop-off centres in Japan

DHL Japan has opened three new drop-off centres in the areas of Tokyo and Kansai to offer greaterconvenience to their customers.



The new express centres in Tokyo, Osaka and Kobe have been established under a businessentrustment agreement with Koyosha Inc., a specialist in printing and DTP-related service operatingunder the shop name WcLock. From now on, the three WcLock branches in Shibuya, Tanimachi and Kobewill accept document and package shipments dropped off by DHL account holders.

The drop-off centres, which are not only targeted at corporate customers but also at officeworkers, business travellers, tourists and other individuals who wish to send personal shipments tooverseas destinations, offer the DHL Simple Pack service with a simplified fee structure. The DHLSimple Pack service is based on dedicated envelopes and boxes, the fees for which are notcalculated according to weight but according to destination zone (Asia Pacific, America or Europeand other regions). These fixed fees are not subject to adjustments due to monthly ratefluctuations in jet fuel surcharges.

With the launch of the new express centres, DHL Japan will mark the introduction of the DHLSimple Pack service to the Kansai area. The company said that the opening of an express centre inOsaka’s Tanimachi area, an administrative district and pivotal location for business coupled withthe existing express centre currently operated in Nakanoshima, Osaka, will mean greater access toDHL.
