DHL expands Time Definite Delivery Services in Asia Pacific

DHL has significantly expanded its Time Definite Delivery (TDD) services “DHL Express 9:00” and“DHL Express 12:00” in Asia-Pacific including wider geographical coverage and additional service

options as well as the inclusion of the domestic delivery option “DHL Import Express 12:00” inJapan.

DHL has steadily expanded its TDD products since their launch in 2003, most recently byoffering “DHL Express 12:00” services in China, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and South Korea sinceAugust. The expanded availability has increased customer use of the TDD services especially in theelectronics, industrial machinery, precision instruments and chemical industries, DHL Japan said ina statement.

In Asia-Pacific, the delivery option “DHL Express 12:00” is now offering a wider coverage ofmajor business areas in 10 additional Asia-Pacific countries including Indonesia, Sri Lanka, NewZealand, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Brunei, Macao, Myanmar and Maldives. Moreover, TDD serviceshave also been expanded to the suburbs of major cities and regional cities in China, Taiwan, SouthKorea, the Philippines, and India. In China, “DHL Express 12:00” reaches out to approximately 20cities, including Dalian and Qingdao.

In Japan, TDD services now also include “DHL Import Express 12:00”, a convenientyen-cash-on-delivery option that is unaffected by changes in currency exchange rates. The service,which has been available in 13 Tokyo districts, 24 Osaka districts and 16 Nagoya districts, is nowalso offered in Tokyo’s 10 remaining districts as well as in all Yokohama, Kawasaki, and Kobe thuscovering all major business areas in the country.

We haveresponded by continuously upgrading DHL services to offer expanded availability. The recentexpansion will enable us to offer greater convenience to customers and further solidify ourposition as the market leader,” said Guenter Zorn, Representative Director/President of DHL Japan.
