TNT Express was today recognised for its express logistics excellence in Asia Pacific at the annualSCMLogistics Excellence Awards held in Singapore.
TNT said that it gained the “Asia Pacific Express Logistics Excellence” award in recognitionof its efforts in raising the bar of end-to-end supply chain and logistics standards in the AsiaPacific region. In particular, it recognised TNT’s success in increasing service levels, reducingcosts and maximising lead times for its customers; offering a comprehensive end-to-end suite ofsolutions to customers; and spearheading logistics innovation.

TNT noted that it is investing €100 million over five years in Asia to enhance its networkcoverage, connectivity, infrastructure and customer products and services. TNT has re-routed adedicated Boeing 747-400ERF aircraft to stop three times a week in Singapore, en route to Shanghai,China, from its air hub in Liege, Belgium. With the freighter services, TNT can leverage thesoaring demand for freight express services between Southeast Asia, China and Europe and build aleadership position in domestic, intra-regional and selected intercontinental express flows in theemerging Asian market, particularly in the healthcare, high-tech and equipment and machinerysectors.
In addition, it has built up its Asia Road Network for regional overland transportation tolink over 125 cities in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and China. Other measures include anenhanced Customer Contact Centre opened in July 2008 and the introduction of several RFID-basedsolutions, including its RFID-ready Life Sciences Express Hub in Singapore, its largest dedicatedlife science facility in the world.
