Deutsche Post announced that its domestic letter mail prices will remain stable in 2009, whileinternational mail prices will increase by an average of 0.1%, and price structures will be
simplified for customers.The pricing proposal submitted by Deutsche Post was confirmed by the German Federal NetworkAgency which is responsible for regulating the most important mail prices.
Prices of domestic letters will remain stable next year despite rising production costs andinflation of 3%, Deutsche Post said. Standard letters will remain at 55 cents for the seventh yearrunning, and other mail products will also be unchanged.
There will be a minimal average price increase of 0.1% for international mail items, DeutschePost said. In a price simplification, prices for letters weighing between 50 and 100 grams willincrease, while prices for letters weighing between 100 and 500 grams will fall significantly.
