FedEx launches new flight route through Cork to improve Ireland coverage

FedEx Express has introduced a new flight route through Cork, the second largest city in Ireland,to offer customers later pick-up times and improved next-business-day delivery to Continental

Europe and the U.S. East Coast.

The existing flight from the Shannon International Airport in Ireland to the FedEx Expresshub at Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport will now connect through Cork to allow forregional pick-up for next-business-day delivery before proceeding to Paris.

From now on, customers in the South, South East and West of Ireland will benefit from pick-uptimes of up to one and a half hours later on average than previously available and faster serviceto select destination markets. Customers who previously used the two-business-day service to selectUS markets will now be able to reach more than 3,500 zip codes along the US East Coast overnight,FedEx said.

“This service enhancement is excellent news for customers in Ireland, offering the businesscommunity a vital next-day delivery service to Continental Europe and the East Coast of the UnitedStates along with later pick-up times for greater convenience and flexibility,” stated DavidCanavan, managing director Operations & Customer Service, FedEx Express, Ireland, Scotland andthe Nordics.

The additional flight segment represents an investment in Ireland’s economy by offeringbusinesses improved service and greater next-day market access from more points within Ireland,FedEx added.
