DHL Global Forwarding (DGF) has launched an intra-European, overnight transport solution for thelife sciences industry combining the speed of express delivery with the individual care of a
freight forwarder.Called “Airfreight Plus for the Life Sciences Industry”, the new service providesday-definite, door-to-door delivery of heavyweight goods across 32 European countries. For DGF’slife sciences industry customers, this means not only late cut-off times and next-day expressservice, but also temperature-controlled facilities, minimal tarmac times and dedicated handling ofshipments by trained life sciences staff.
“Whether high-value, bulky, temperature-controlled or dangerous goods, our Airfreight Plusservice offers a choice in delivery speed to best suit our customers’ delivery requirements,” saidBart de Vries, Head of Airfreight Europe/CEE. “We’re bringing together the network of DHL withGlobal Forwarding’s secured air freight capacity and we’re combining fixed processes withindividual service, so it’s a perfect tool for optimizing sensitive life sciences industry supplychains.”
As with DGF’s other Airfreight Plus services, life sciences customers can take advantage ofDHL Global Forwarding’s shipment tracking system. Moreover, with its optional 24 hour – service forpharmaceutical shipments called Pharma Control Tower, DHL Global Forwarding is able to take overthe entire freight management for all life science industry customers.
The new Airfreight solution complements DHL Freight’s new COLDCHAIN solution for intraEuropean LTL road transportation. Together, both products offer the industry sector optimaltransport solutions across Europe.
