TNT Express Services has been rewarded with two top awards in the Environment and Trainingcategories at the Motor Transport Awards in the UK.
The Environment award was awarded for TNT’s ‘Planet me’ environmental programme as well asfor the company’s initiatives such as the launch of the world’s largest fleet of zero emissionelectric vehicles, its programme to reduce vehicle mileage and fuel consumption for long-distancelorries, along with a scheme which incentivises company car drivers to buy greener cars.
The Training award recognised TNT’s work at its sorting hubs, where more than 100 millionpackages and parcels pass through each year. The TNT initiative succeeded in reducing its lost-timeaccident rate, improving employee engagement and productivity and reducing staff turnover. It wasalso awarded for the success in reducing absence rates, down by 17.9% year-on-year.
