China Post has launched a same-day express mail service (EMS) between Beijing and the north-easternport city of Tianjin using rail transportation.
Under the service, inaugurated as of August 1, EMS items handed in at designated post officesor collected from shippers in the Chinese capital before 11:00 will be delivered in Tianjin before18:00 the same day.
“With the utilization of Beijing-Tianjin Express Train, China Post EMS is dedicated to offercustomers a premium and reliable express service between Beijing and Tianjin,” China Post Groupsaid in a statement.
The service is currently only available for document items. The price for each EMS documentweighing up to 500g is RMB 20 (€2), with RMB 6 (€0.60) for any additional 500g. There is also aspecial service charge of RMB 5 (€0.50) for each item to cover the guarantee of quality service.
