UPS has extended pick-up options for air shipments for US customers, especially for ad-hoc clientswithout regular collections.
The company said it has enhanced its UPS On-Call Pickup service for air packages by making itavailable for the first time in more than 4,000 ZIP codes, while air pickup times have beenextended in nearly 6,000 ZIP codes. Together, the enhancements represent improved service for 26percent of all US businesses.
The enhancements were completed last month and provide customers without a daily scheduledpickup even more flexibility to meet critical deadlines, UPS said. UPS On-Call Pickup now isavailable for same-day pickup in most parts of the country. A driver also can be called to make apickup later in the day even after a regularly scheduled daily pickup.
Customers can have air, ground or international shipments picked up from their home or officesimply by scheduling online at UPS.com or by calling a dedicated phone number.
UPS noted that customers can also drop off shipments at the more than 4,400 The UPS Store andMail Boxes Etc. locations in the United States, or at one of the roughly 40,000 UPS Drop Boxesmaintained throughout the country.
