DHL Russia launches Moscow-Leipzig flights with DHL branded Tupolev

DHL Russia put into operation its first DHL branded Tupolev-204C aircraft launching newMoscow-Leipzig flights operating 6 days a week with a freight capacity of 28,000 kg per freighter.



The new Tupolev aircraft, designed in DHL corporate yellow and red colouring, effected itsfirst flight from Sheremetyevo International Airport on 5 July 2008 to Leipzig/Halle airport, thehome of DHL’s new European hub, which opened in May 2008.

“We are proud that Russian aircraft will now also have DHL corporate branding on it. Thisshows our commitment to the Russian market and underlines the successful development of ourbusiness in the country”, said Adrian Marley, General Manager of DHL Express Russia.

The company plans to gradually strengthen its network for cargo transportation maximising itstransport capacity volumes for the delivery of customers’ shipments in future, DHL Russia said in astatement.
