FedEx has opened a new depot at the Greendale Business Park in Woodbury Salterton, close to Exeterin the South West of the UK, to expand its network and improve its service in the region, according
to the online news service Express & Echo.The new 1,579 sqm facility has the capacitiy to sort 500 packages per hour along a 70 mconveyor system designed to quickly process parcels. The facility was also specially adapted toallow vehicles to load from any of the 13 double-shutter doors at the front and at the side of thebuilding providing warehousing space inside.
“This depot demonstrates our commitment to playing a central role in the future of the SouthWest of England”, Trevor Hoyle, managing director of FedEx UK, was cited. “Our investment in Exetermeans faster and more flexible services for local businesses and ensures they can continue tobenefit from connections with the global economy.”
