UPS

The industry-first solutions UPS Paperless Invoice and international UPS Returns are available nowwithin the UPS Shipping Tool, an application programme interface (API) that customers can integrate

them into their own websites and enterprise applications.

Launched in January, the new services are already helping thousands of customers manageshipments to 98 countries and territories around the world via UPS shipping systems like UPSWorldShip, UPS CampusShip and UPS Internet Shipping, the company said in a statement.

UPS said since the introduction of UPS Paperless in January, customers with shipmentsoriginating in more than 30 countries have processed hundreds of thousands of “go paperless”shipments. The free-of-charge solution enables customers to increase efficiency by integratingorder processing, shipment preparation and commercial invoice data. It then transmits the data tocustoms offices across the globe electronically, eliminating the need for error-prone or incompletepaper documentation that is the main reason international shipments are delayed. Becauseinformation is stored electronically, customers greatly reduce their chance of making manual errorsfilling out Customs documentation, and the tech-enabled service prevents them from submittingincomplete paperwork that could result in a shipment being held for clearance.

UPS Returns allows customers to efficiently return purchased items from 98 countries orterritories around the globe. Now, business and residential customers can receive the internationalreturn label and commercial invoice via e-mail, local post or from the UPS driver picking up thereturn package. UPS Returns is easily accessed via UPS shipping systems like UPS WorldShip or UPSInternet Shipping and also can be integrated into a company’s systems or website.

“It’s more important than ever for small- and medium-sized companies to look at globalmarkets and to leverage technology to act ‘big,’ even as they retain the flexibility of a smallercompany,” said Jordan Colletta, UPS Vice President of customer technology marketing. “With thespotlight on operational costs, these UPS services allow businesses of all sizes to overcome someof the complications of operating internationally in a cost-effective manner.”

UPS Paperless Invoice is provided to customers at no additional charge while rates for UPSReturns vary depending upon the shipment. Fees for international UPS Returns includetransportation, a shipping label and applicable duties and taxes.
