DHL invests in Saudi Arabia expansion

DHL Express is investing over 100 million Saudi riyals (€17.3 million) for infrastructuredevelopment across Saudi Arabia as part of its regional expansion plans.



The strategic growth of DHL Express includes the rapid expansion of service points with theopening of more than 15 new branches before the end of the year. The new branches will be rolledout in important population centers across The Kingdom in the coming eight months.

The significant investment will have a positive impact on all of DHL’s operations and bringthe total number of branches to over 50 across Saudi Arabia.

DHL Express Country Manager KSA, Nour Suliman said the company was responding quickly to thegrowing numbers and diverse needs of its customers, as well as the growth in the country’s economy.

“Like so many business sectors we are seeing rapid and healthy growth and it is ourcommitment to this country to provide our customers with greater access to our services, throughthe best branch locations, the highest possible standard of customer service, the most efficientworld-class logistics infrastructure, extended list of service points, and increased fleet,”Suliman commented.

“While we have been operating in The Kingdom since 1976, this investment is the first step inour current strategic expansion plan that reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing leadership position ineconomic development in the GCC and Middle East region. The opening of 15 new branches willstrengthen the relationships we have with our customers,” he added.

DHL Express indicated that other developments in the future will include investment intechnology, transport and logistics equipment and further infrastructure.
