TNT Brazilian subsidiary re-brands to TNT Mercúrio

TNT said today it is introducing a new brand for its express delivery services in Brazil byre-naming its subsidiary Mercúrio to TNT Mercúrio following its successful transformation and

integration.

The new brand means a lot to the Brazilian express market. “Only TNT Mercúrio can satisfyboth domestic and international delivery needs, be it by air or road,” said Roberto Rodrigues, TNTMercúrio country general manager.

The company’s 1,500 vehicles will be rebranded by the end of 2009. TNT Mercúrio, acquired byTNT in January 2007, is the leader of the Brazilian domestic express market with a market shareof 15%. It has 7,000 employees at 130 branches and franchises, and covers more than 4,000cities across Brazil. It provides both domestic and cross-border road delivery services, usingits own fleet of 1,500 vehicles and 2,000 sub-contracted ones.

TNT Mercúrio wants to strengthen its leadership position by investing in new vehicles, depotsand infrastructure, including a state-of-the-art call center in São Paulo.

Besides growing in the Brazilian domestic market, TNT Mercúrio is seeking to connect otherSouth American countries by road. “We already offer this possibility to our customers by providingroad services to Argentina, Chile and Uruguay,” Rodrigues said.

Furthermore, TNT is looking into ways to strengthen its air connectivity between Brazil andEurope, linking its South American road infrastructure to international air routes.
