FedEx sponsors major Earth Day event in US cities

Green Apple Festival

FedEx has sponsored last weekend’s Green Apple Festival, the major US event as part of Earth Day,today’s worldwide event focusing on environmental protection.



The Green Apple Festival, which took place in eight major US cities from April 18-20,consisted of large-scale, free concerts with music, entertainment, speakers and environmentalactivities.

FedEx said it displayed its hybrid-electric vehicles, which are part of the largest fleet ofcommercial hybrid trucks in the US, at select festival locations and informed the public about itsenvironmental activities.

The US express group said its sponsorship demonstrated its commitment to connecting theworld in responsible and resourceful ways. “FedEx is committed to providing global connections,while minimizing its environmental impact,” the company stated.

The mission of Green Apple Festival (GAF) is to involve audiences of all ages in acelebration of Earth Day and in so doing, educate individuals on environmental issues and providetangible benefits to local communities. The Green Apple Festival is one of the nation’s largestcarbon neutral events and has a zero waste goal.
